I am looking for news or announcements from anybody pertaining to minicup racing. If you have something for sale, want to buy something, or just enjoy writing entertaining stories please, me! All articles / items may include photos!
Just a few things to remember befor cold weather sets in.
1. Remove those areosol cans and any other liquids that may freeze from your race trailer and store in a warm place.
2. Remove all those expensive digital instruments also such as tach & temp guages. The liquid crystal display could explode from freezing.
3. Not a bad idea to disconnect and remove your battery unless your car will be all warm and fuzzy in a heated garage.
Batterys should have terminals cleaned with baking soda and water and be fully charged before storing in a cool dry place.
Note: Do not store next to a furnace!
Check charge level every 45-60 days. Recharge accordingly.
Note: A small motercycle / ATV battery tender has smart charging circutry to maintain your battery, about $20.00 at
Walmart.

If anyone needs extra Tie rods, I have a lathe to make them. I use 1/2" hex stock & have both 5/16" & 3/8" left & right handed taps. My prices are competative with parts warehouses. I just need to know the lenght you want.

About 3 weeks ago some of you may have noticed that the original shoptalk had internal server errors. After investigation, I found out that it had been discontinued. I have always felt that shoptalk was one of the main artery's for information to travel through about our sport. Without hesitation I decided to develop a similar message board that will hopefully be utilized to carry information about minicup racing throughout the country. Please visit the new message board by clicking on the following image.and post your comments.
Jennerstown Speedway may not be opening for the 2009 Season
Unfortunatly at this time, Jennerstown Speedway has been unable to find someone willing to lease the track for the 2009 Race Season which will leave only Mountain Speedway on the PA schedule for the minicups. An official statement from Jennerstown Speedway will be posted as soon as it is made available.
I have just been informed by Jennerstown Staff that they may have an individual that is interested in leasing the track for the 2009 season after all. More information will be made available as soon as possible.

It has come to my attention that Honda has made a change to the stock piston that will produce a performance advantage. The previous stock piston is no longer available.
The new piston has been designed to produce more compression by repositioning the piston rings.
Unfortunately, after speaking with Tim at Extreme Engine Systems, the process to change over to the new piston will require an engine refresh and the install of the new piston. Total cost $465.00
The problem I see with this is that anyone who does not need the refresh is going to have spend the money anyway in order to remain competitive.
I am not sure when the pistons started being installed, so if your not sure if you already have it, please contact your engine builder.
Of course the old piston will still be legal, but at this time I have no choice but to make the new piston legal as well.
Due to availability of the car of tomorrow body enhancements I have decided to make only the rear wing legal for the 2009 season. The original spoilers will remain legal for 2009 as well but may be phased out in 2010 depending on the performance of the rear wing in 2009
My reason is this. Not everyone has the Lightning Light Body. The rear wing will be able to be adapted to any body available by any manufacturer. However, the front splitter would require a great deal of fiberglass work to be adapted to body's other than Lightning light. It is unclear at this time, but, there may be some difficulty with the different front bumpers on different chassis as well.
